Hi, I'm

Karan Thakkar

I enjoy solving problems, improving systems, exploring new places, flying aircrafts, discovering the stories behind art and antiques, and learning something new every day.

This is a place where I share the projects I'm working on, the places I've explored, and the experiences that have shaped who I am.

Flight-Level Perspective

Every flight begins long before the engine starts.

Before every take-off comes planning, checklists, weather briefings, and understanding the bigger picture. Flying has taught me that preparation and good decision-making are rarely accidental—they come from slowing down, asking questions, and paying attention to the details.

I've found that the same mindset applies far beyond aviation. Whether I'm improving a process, designing a website, automating a task, researching an antique, or planning an adventure, I enjoy understanding how things work before trying to make them better.

Curiosity's Compass

I enjoy learning through doing. Whether it's flying an aircraft, building a Raspberry Pi project, exploring a new country, or researching the history behind a piece of art, each interest teaches me something different and keeps me curious.

Travel & Adventure

Flying has taught me discipline, preparation and confidence in decision-making. It's one of the most rewarding challenges I've ever taken on.

I enjoy building practical projects using Raspberry Pis, home automation and 3D printing, always looking for ways to improve systems and solve everyday problems.

Exploring new places gives me a fresh perspective. Whether it's wandering through a city or hiking a mountain trail, I enjoy discovering cultures, landscapes and hidden stories.

Art & History

I'm fascinated by art, antiques and the history behind them. Understanding where objects came from and the stories they carry is as interesting to me as the objects themselves.

Outdoors

Hiking, cycling and kayaking help me disconnect from screens and reconnect with nature. Whenever possible, Kiki comes along for the adventure.

Board Games

I enjoy modern strategy board games that encourage creative thinking, teamwork and good company. They're one of my favourite ways to spend an evening with friends.
